AVOID BEEN HACKED
By Marc Batica
After seeing a couple of posts of people getting hacked and the rise of popularity in crypto again, I thought I’d reshare this.

Whether you invest in crypto or transact through online banking, itโs incredibly easy to gain access to your accounts if you donโt properly setup your accounts!
Did you know that you donโt need permission to get your phone number ported or transferred to another Sim card? Why is that important?
Most people have got their 2FA (2 step-verification security) setup through SMS.
1. Hacker ports your phone number to their simcard and now has access to your 2 step-verification.
2. Hacker now resets your e-mail address password through your phone number.
3. Once they have access to your e-mail address & phone number, theyโll have access to everything linked inside those devices.

1. Ensure that your social media e-mail addresses are NOT linked to your online wallet / online bank accounts.
2. Make sure your back-up email address is NOT linked to your social media e-mail addresses.
3. Never give out your phone number to people you donโt know! One sneaky way of asking for your phone number is getting added on โWhatsappโ or “Signal” and other similar platforms.
4. Be wary of links that people send to you (Yep, even people you know. Iโve had friends send me links because their accounts were compromised.)
5. Do not setup your 2FA with your primary phone number or primary e-mail address. Change one or the other so that they are not linked to your normal accounts.
Below you can find a detailed article (see link below) of how hackers do it and how you can potentially prevent it. It may save you thousands of dollars.
